Pigment carbon black has excellent hiding power, coloring power, weather resistance and light resistance, and is widely used in various fields of production. Black cat carbon black has the characteristics of small particle size, large specific surface area and high oil absorption, so it is difficult to wet and disperse and grind. In practical applications, it can be effectively dispersed by a good degree of fineness in order to effectively express the high blackness and high brightness of the pigment carbon black.
Tinting strength of pigment carbon black
The tinting strength is very important for the pigment carbon black, and the greater the tinting strength of the pigment carbon black, the less the amount is used. The coloring power of the pigment carbon black is substantially proportional to the particle size, and has a certain relationship with the structure of the pigment carbon black. However, this relationship is not a simple relationship, because the amount of tinting strength depends not only on the size of the particle size but also on its surface characteristics, so that the blackness of the pigment carbon black is not proportional to the tinting strength.
The darker black carbon black rubber has higher acidity, and the pH value is about 2.5 ~ 4.5. The higher the adsorption capacity, the lower the pH value of ordinary carbon black is, so the adsorption capacity is not obvious. Since the adsorption capacity of the pigment carbon black has a special influence on the drying property of the coating, the drying rate of the coating film is often reduced due to the adsorption of the drier in the color paint. When the pH of the pigment carbon black is 4 or less, the greater the acidity and the greater the adsorption capacity to the drier, the more obvious the effect on the dry performance. The anti-drying effect of carbon black is not manifested immediately after the painting, but is reflected after a period of time after the adsorption of the drier is completely or partially (storage period). Therefore, when designing the paint formulation, consider increasing the amount of drier.
