China Rubber Taiwan International has made a series of important achievements in sustainable development

They apply these products to fields such as electric vehicle tires, conductive rubber-plastic composite materials, ink coatings, and precision electronics. From the perspective of raw materials, they use recycled waste tires to produce recycled carbon black and pyrolysis oil. Through unique technology, they re-manufacture new environmentally friendly and low-carbon products, and actively promote the sustainable development of green enterprises.

　　In terms of technology research and development, they have obtained the research and development achievements of "Rapid Analysis Method for Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)" and "Erebos Reactor Technology for Post-treatment Modification of Carbon Black", and obtained patents. It is particularly worth mentioning that the carbon black testing laboratory they established in the Linyuan factory in Taiwan has passed the accreditation of the Taiwan Certification Foundation (TAF), a consortium legal person, and has become a TAF certification laboratory, which can accept internal or external sample analysis in the future entrust. The company already possesses international level PAH and heavy metal analysis and detection capabilities.

　　Considering the importance of low carbon to the enterprise, China Rubber Group International has gradually switched the fuel in the carbon black production process to natural gas in the past two years. They took the lead in trial at the Chongqing factory in March 2023, and began to promote it at the Kaohsiung Linyuan factory in April, and other factories are also planned. This move is aimed at reducing the overall carbon intensity. The Chongqing plant and Linyuan plant that have been implemented are expected to reduce 2,647 tons of CO₂e emissions in 2023. After conversion, the carbon emission density will drop by 0.01 tons of CO₂e/ton. In addition, China Rubber International is also actively participating in the local renewable energy development plan. The Taiwan Linyuan factory has repurchased the originally leased solar panels in the factory area, and signed a watt-hour meter lease contract with the Taiwan power department.

　　In terms of environmental sustainability, the company has also started to establish a green supply chain. From 2022, Linyuan Plant will start to use waste tire pyrolysis oil as fuel oil, accounting for 25.75% of the total fuel oil consumption. In addition, they have also developed "environmentally friendly recycled carbon black" that reduces dependence on petrochemical raw materials, which can be applied to bicycle tires, mountain bike tires, road tires and other rubber products, helping to reduce carbon black and the carbon footprint of the tire industry. China Rubber's carbon black business has opened up new application areas. Through these initiatives, the company has demonstrated sustainable operations and a positive impact on social values in the three dimensions of environment, society and corporate governance (ESG).
