According to the latest statistical data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, the export volume of various types of new pneumatic rubber tires in China increased year-on-year from January to May this year, although the average unit price decreased. The statistics show that from January to May, the cumulative export volume of new pneumatic rubber tires reached 3.503 million tons, up 4.3% year-on-year; the cumulative export value was $8.69 billion, up 2.4% year-on-year; and the average export price was $2,480.9 per ton, down 1.8% year-on-year. Specifically, in May, the export volume was 746,000 tons, up 0.5% year-on-year; the export value was $1.84 billion, down 1.2% year-on-year; and the average export price in May was $2,463.1 per ton, down 1.7% year-on-year. The top five markets for tire exports in the first five months of this year were Russia, Mexico, the UAE, Brazil, and the United States.
Industry experts note that despite the complexities and uncertainties of the global trade environment, China's exports of new pneumatic rubber tires have still seen year-on-year growth, indicating the increasing competitiveness of Chinese tires in the international market. However, data from the first five months also show a general downward trend in the unit price of tire exports, highlighting the need to be aware of the risks associated with continuously decreasing export prices.
